Sailing Coaching:
James (Jaz) started teaching dinghy sailing in 1986 and this soon led to campaigning a Fireball. Much success on the Scottish Traveller series led to an overall 2nd place and another 2nd at the Scottish National Championships. This provided a springboard to moving up into many successful yacht racing campaigns.
He spent many years sailing as a specialist bowman on IOR One Toners, IOR 50's and many production yachts before moving further aft in the crews. He has had success in all positions on board and has a deep and complete understanding of each role and their interrelation.
He has won the Beneteau 40.7 National & European Championships, has been a Scottish Series Class winner and was consistently in the top 5 overall in the Beneteau 40.7 class at Cowes Week.
He has much experience coaching crews on board 40.7's, coached Ambition Racing on board their Akilaria Class 40 for their double handed entry in the 2008 Portimao Global Ocean Challenge and has worked with the Scottish SB3 fleet.
As well as his Yachtmaster & Commercial Endorsement, James holds the RYA Keelboat Coach and Senior Dinghy Instructor qualifications.
